We were made to do one specific thing, whether or not we realized it beforehand. We did that specific thing. A mission went wrong. Everyone on site, whether they were involved or not, either died when that happened, or were killed while trying to get out by the cleanup they had in place.
Whoever it was who made us, they wanted that specific outcome, and they wanted no one else to realize what had happened. No loose ends, neat and clean; no one to know of what they'd done. My sister and I were subjected to a self destruct command during all that to erase any possible evidence that might have pointed back to them.
