[ he wants so badly to say no, but he is in fact aware that he has to work with someone to find the one responsible for breaking tsuru a second time. so while he doesn't look at all happy about it, ookurikara still his sword and straightens to face 45. ]
The doors to the mess hall and kitchen were barricaded last night with the foldable tables and chairs. I know this because Sanji and I spent our hour setting it up before we were put to sleep.
[ yeah. ]
So, whatever was going on with those footprints... if they came from the mess hall, then either whoever did it has a way to disregard any such obstacles, or the camp itself moved things out of the way to facilitate them.
Anyway, he's aware that I'm telling you this, so we don't want for there to be any misunderstandings about me trying to cast the blame off onto him, or something.
We were given two types of magic - one element, and one other ability associated with it. Mine were fire, and meteors. They've only given us the one ability this time, but it is like our old ones in that it can only be used once each week.
... interesting. I know at least one power must have been used this week, and if it really is just once a week, then I suppose it's a good thing they won't have it available for tomorrow.
It... might not be his power. Someone used something to affect him, but I don't know who.
[ 45 would like to think Akira isn't reckless enough to just be throwing powers at himself, but I, knowing what happened in Subd, just close my eyes. ]
I'm not sure if he does either, but I didn't ask- which is why I suggested you go to him.
[ hm, well. as much as kara does not care about... hm, much of anything right now? at some point, dinner has to be made, and he's not going to wait for someone else to do it for him. so it's off to the kitchen.
...somehow, he isn't expecting someone to have beaten him there. he'll glance at her, and move around the kitchen to stay out of her way as he goes to grab a pot. ]
[ they probably won't get in each other's way too much, then; she's still pulling everything out, but the ingredients thus far assembled are for sacher torte.
he can do dinner. she'll just do dessert, and leave it out for whoever. but that doesn't mean she just ignores him- when he shows up, she nods briefly in his direction to acknowledge his presence. ]
[ that's fine. he'll give her a return nod and start gathering things for dinner - a quick, simple pot of udon. there will be more than enough to share when it's done, but it's... nice, to have the relative quiet and not be bothered for a bit. there are too many people insisting on "checking up" on him, that it feels suffocating. just staying out of each other's way as they make their food is enough. ]
[ here's the question though, is the kitchen still making itself a mess. do they just have to dodge all the extra stuff piling up without their say so.
but in any case, haha! she's not going to bother him for a bit. what could she offer, anyway? she doesn't know him, and she didn't know tsurumaru. empty platitudes are worse than none at all, aren't they? they probably just get tiring after a while.
of course, after a while, there comes the point where there isn't much else to do as the cake bakes, so. how much is he making, anyway, enough for himself and a few others, or is this a 'feed the entire camp' thing? ]
[ it's been a long day, mauyn, do we really want to deal with the kitchen dirtying itself.
to 45's credit, kara does appreciate the quiet. most people, if sharing a space, seem to feel the need to fill the silence, with or without a good reason to. so he can't really complain. anyway by the time her cake is baking, he's got a good pot going. it's definitely not enough for the whole camp, but it could maybe serve like 8-10 folks? there is plenty to share. ]
[ 8-10. much more than the group he supposedly came in with, not enough for all of them. well, fair enough.
she needs to tidy up the mixing bowls and other miscellaneous equipment she used, anyway, ingredients still lying out that need to be put away and whisks and other things that need washing. existing around someone isn't too difficult, and if he wants to pretend normalcy then that's fine.
[ he doesn't pay much attention to her as they go about their business - it's good to see that someone isn't leaving a mess in their wake, but that's as it should be, after all. it isn't until the vegetables he's added to the noodles are thoroughly cooked that he speaks. ]
There's plenty, if you haven't eaten yet.
WEDNESDAY, backdated to w2 because you said you wanted it;
[ the ghost city is, perhaps, one of the most familiar sights she's seen yet, with its reaching skyline and empty streets. with a little bit more overgrowth, a little more reclamation on the part of nature, it could almost look like any of the cities abandoned when the collapse first took hold.
so that's probably why if she's in the portal at all, she's spending much of her time here. odd effects aside, sometimes just hopping on the- surprisingly but pleasantly- functional motorcycles and giving them a go is just a good time? of course, they need gas, so...
