Why would I think you were lying? [His attention fixes back on her, like the sweeping gaze of a lighthouse. He smiles, gently.] I just wanted to confirm it, because I was curious.
[But something she says interests him.]
Whether it still looks like that? Why, did you expect it would look different?
[WELL he missed the whole commotion over the body piles because he was Investigating, but Anaido is here, spotting 45 near the bonfire and coming over with a slight wave.]
Hey, 45... [And then stops. He sniffs.] Is that...lemons?
Ah. I guess we have that in common. Curiosity, and wanting to know things that maybe we shouldn't.
[ what's the saying? curiosity killed the cat? but perhaps satisfaction keeps bringing it back. ]
Those images were from decades ago. The world's changed since then. There's been a major world war, amongst other things... [ a mild, vague shrug. ] For all I know, that particular bit of shoreline might not exist anymore. Or maybe it does, and nature persists despite human actions.
Even if it is residuals, it's hard to say whether it's because of all of us from the mansion collectively bringing the concept of curfew effects with us, or because our own experiences are causing the curfew effects themselves...
[ the difference is mostly academic in the end, and she's a little too drained to devote any real processing power to it. ]
[Well, if it was that extensive...could it really change the image of the ocean that drastically?]
Nature is tougher than you think, though. So in your shoes, I'd assume that shoreline still exists. Mankind is only ever so mortal, after all. Nature lasts forever.
They're incredibly stupid. Sometimes useful for verifying that someone actually did stay in a place, if it's one of the harder to fake ones, but otherwise they're just a hassle to deal with at best.
[ it's a little more frank than usual. maybe she's just too tired for her usual affectations. ]
But then again, I think my group is the only one that had to deal with curfew effects before.
That shoreline might still exist, but I wonder if the view's the same. Is it just the beach itself? Does the vegetation still exist? Perhaps the coral has been bleached.
But you're right, I suppose. One way or another, the world continues.
A squad shrouded in mystery. ▓▓▓▓▒ has met them once, and others can only guess at the members' identities from rumors. Members of the squad all have advanced AI and high capacity for independent operation. Rumor has it that Squad 404 usually deals with ░▓▒▓▓▓▒▓▓▒▒▒░░

Not as far as we saw, besides our own when we killed each other, I guess.
