[ they probably won't get in each other's way too much, then; she's still pulling everything out, but the ingredients thus far assembled are for sacher torte.
he can do dinner. she'll just do dessert, and leave it out for whoever. but that doesn't mean she just ignores him- when he shows up, she nods briefly in his direction to acknowledge his presence. ]
[ that's fine. he'll give her a return nod and start gathering things for dinner - a quick, simple pot of udon. there will be more than enough to share when it's done, but it's... nice, to have the relative quiet and not be bothered for a bit. there are too many people insisting on "checking up" on him, that it feels suffocating. just staying out of each other's way as they make their food is enough. ]
[ here's the question though, is the kitchen still making itself a mess. do they just have to dodge all the extra stuff piling up without their say so.
but in any case, haha! she's not going to bother him for a bit. what could she offer, anyway? she doesn't know him, and she didn't know tsurumaru. empty platitudes are worse than none at all, aren't they? they probably just get tiring after a while.
of course, after a while, there comes the point where there isn't much else to do as the cake bakes, so. how much is he making, anyway, enough for himself and a few others, or is this a 'feed the entire camp' thing? ]
[ it's been a long day, mauyn, do we really want to deal with the kitchen dirtying itself.
to 45's credit, kara does appreciate the quiet. most people, if sharing a space, seem to feel the need to fill the silence, with or without a good reason to. so he can't really complain. anyway by the time her cake is baking, he's got a good pot going. it's definitely not enough for the whole camp, but it could maybe serve like 8-10 folks? there is plenty to share. ]
[ 8-10. much more than the group he supposedly came in with, not enough for all of them. well, fair enough.
she needs to tidy up the mixing bowls and other miscellaneous equipment she used, anyway, ingredients still lying out that need to be put away and whisks and other things that need washing. existing around someone isn't too difficult, and if he wants to pretend normalcy then that's fine.
[ he doesn't pay much attention to her as they go about their business - it's good to see that someone isn't leaving a mess in their wake, but that's as it should be, after all. it isn't until the vegetables he's added to the noodles are thoroughly cooked that he speaks. ]

There's plenty, if you haven't eaten yet.
