45 gets a bit of a sideeye at keeping the gun, but he doesn't say anything about it. People keeping weapons on them is dangerous, but the argument can be made that anything could be a weapon. And with magical transforming bullshit, you don't need a gun or sword to kill; it would make more sense to keep something to defend against that. ]

What sort of gun is that? It's not a hunting rifle...?

[ A more acceptable gun, if it's used to hunt for food, but a submachine gun feels like overkill for that purpose. ]

It's used mostly for close combat, like rescuing hostages in tight quarters. The bullets won't go through the walls, or anything you don't want them to, really.

It is not in the least useful for anything requiring long range or penetration.

What did you think would happen if the an armed force were to try to subdue criminals or capture someone in a crowded building using weapons that could punch through walls?

[ Can you imagine if the weapon Ayabe chose was a gun and he had to kill Dazai the same way, by hugging him and shooting him from behind? I could have made the bullet pass through and hit Ayabe too and then 45 would give up on him entirely and leave him for dead, this was the thought that ran through my head when I chose a sword. ]

So then you'd want a short ranged gun, but not a very strong one. One with rubber bullets?
