She just gestures for him to lower his volume, because pressing down in the air repeatedly with a hand is a universal gesture, right? She'll tilt her head, then say, deliberately and slowly so that he can watch her mouth: ]
[ It's the universal gesture for... something. "Calm down" is what he takes it as, which is more or less the same thing. He can't hear her at all and can't read lips either, so rather than answering her question as it is, he taps his ear and shakes his head instead.
This is sort of what he's been doing all week, asking his yes-no questions out loud and watching the other person nod or shake their head, and them having to write to him to hold their end of the conversation. It's very trying on both their patience, and completely falls apart during trials where everybody's screaming and he has no idea what's going on whoops ]
[ Well, at least they're in the study, so she's Prepared. There's a brief sigh as she sorts and shuffles her papers, then scrawls across the top of a blank one: ]
[ He nods at the question and goes ahead and continues speaking so he can save trees. ]
I see. I wanted to ask because when we first met, you were able to tell me all that information about building material and its effect on wifi. You said you had a good memory. Is it photographic?
[ Something useful he wanted to know for trials but. it doesn't matter anymore. ]
When something terrible happens, people panic and aren't seeing everything that's there. They focus on one thing and miss details. It would be nice if you could retain the details, but I also feel bad about asking you to be there.
[ If he had a camera- Stefano continues to be right all the time even when he's not here- Ayabe would have used that to take pictures. The closest thing to that that they have is 45 though. ]
I didn't but... They're able to go outside. The only reason we aren't is because the garden isn't ready.

He's only stating what he believes are facts, but there's not much conviction behind the words. The three staff members can leave, but the guests aren't allowed to leave. Somebody has died; that should be grounds enough to call off this dinner party. ]

None of it, but isn't that because those three aren't making sense? People who have power don't have to play by the rules- they make the rules and the rest are forced to follow. But all of this is too much, isn't it?
